Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control is the largest open access shelter in Northeast Indiana providing for over 10,000 animals each year. The facility takes in any animal brought to the shelter from Allen County regardless of behavior, medical issues or for any other reason. FWACC is always expanding its lifesaving efforts through pet retention, community outreach, adoption and fostering.
Funds raised during the Howl-O-Walkoween event directly support Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control’s Humane Education programs. These programs touch the lives of over 2,500 children in our community each year, teaching them the values of kindness, empathy, and compassion toward animals and the people who love them. By reaching young minds early, we aim to reduce animal cruelty and neglect.
Although we are the largest open-access municipal shelter in Northeast Indiana, Humane Education initiatives are reliant on donations and fundraising efforts to continue to provide these important programs.
