Picked up Barkley, as a transporter for HBR, a week before Harvey hit. My first foster. I transported over 150+ dogs in my 5 years with HBR. He was just 9 months old. When I picked him up at WAAC he was sick with kennel cough. During Harvey I had to rush him to Vergi, as Gulf Coast Vets had been flooded out. Drove on freeway not one other car was seen only a policeman who stopped us and asked what in the world we were doing. Vergi was able to see us, no one else there, and diagnose reverse sneezes and kennel cough. Got meds and drove back home. Needless to say he slept for days on the sofa. He was very sick. It was at that point I knew I would fail. We already had a history. He is the best dog. He’s my best friend. I love him more than you know. Thanks HBR for making him my own.
