Photo Entries
- Photos will be cropped to square and may be edited for lighting and color
- Do not include people's faces or advertising
- More than one dog can be in a photo
- We'd like HAL dogs, but honestly, we'd love and accept any pup!
- Photo must feature dog owned by entrant or with permission from the owner, and entrant must own copyright to the photo (no watermarks)
- Each calendar page measures approx. 2.7" x 3.2", printed on 170 gsm photo paper, and made in the USA
- Home At Last Dog Rescue reserves the right to deny any photo submission for any reason and a full refund of the entry donation will be provided
Tips for Taking a "Calendar Worthy" Picture
- GET CLOSE!
- Get your dog to look at the camera, preferably at eye level
- Try to shoot in natural light
- Avoid cluttered backgrounds; you want the focus to be your dog
- Beware of shooting in direct sunlight as it increases shadows
- If your dog is dark colored, take the photo in front of a lighter background
- If your dog is light colored, take the photo in front of a darker background
