Charlie is the oldest dog in our heart worm slow kill program and a beneficiary of our Have A Heart 6 fundraiser. I heard about Charlie last spring after he was found under a house in central Illinois as a stray. He wound up in an over- crowded shelter with not a lot of hope of being saved due to his age and health. On Easter Sunday, he was flown into IBRland by friend of the rescue Pilot Steve. Charlie was so sickly, underweight, had a terrible skin infection and both of his ears were infected. He had no energy, and was tired and depressed. Within a few weeks, he started to feel a lot better and since the spring he is stronger, healthier and has put on over 10lbs. He is such a happy fella now and most of all he feels safe and loved.
