Two years ago when I adopted Chloe, she would shake in the corner from the slightest sudden movement or noise. If I picked up anything resembling a stick she would lay on her back and whine. Chloe didn't have a great start to life and I'm honored that the amount of trust she has put in me has allowed her to come out of her shell. She's recently been acting more sassy by barking when she wants to go outside for eighth time or I stop petting her. I'm okay with this because I know she finally feels safe.
