Layla was originally from Amarillo, TX, where she lived with another dog. She got pregnant young and her family shipped her off to a kill shelter, where she was rescued by a KC organization. A month before we got her she door-darted from her foster mom and went on an epic 18-day adventure around Overland Park and was eventually recovered.

She's lived with us a little more than a year. Her mom is a children's book author, and her story inspired a new book series called The Odd Dog. She loves daily walks (as many as she can get) trips to the park, and hanging out with her 'boyfriend', a pug named Ollie.
