We adopted Bonnie (age 4) from the SPCA location in Independence, MO on 1/26/16. We were told that she had been brought up in a hoarding situation and, as a result, had poor socialization skills. Prior to being brought to SPCA, Bonnie had sustained a left femur fracture that had been untreated. We were also told that we may need to consider amputation in the future. Despite this news, one look in her eyes told us we had found our dog! It took Bonnie some time to trust us but once she became comfortable in our loving home, she blossomed! Everyone who meets her today comments on how sweet and beautiful she is. I’m happy to report that Bonnie has responded well to arthritis medication and acupuncture and gets around on four legs. She loves her walks, belly rubs and taps into her Pyrenees genes to guard our yard!
