Penelope is an elegant lady who graciously came with me from her foster home through the Gifford shelter about 7 years ago. About 3 years later, Telemachos ambled in, somewhat less elegantly. Telemachos was initially shy-- he spent 3 months hiding under a sofa, and that's the least of it. Once he came out, however, he quickly blossomed, and now, wherever Penelope goes, he follows, sometimes with his nose in her behind. She swooshes her tail, he blunders away. She is a patient lady, queenly but kind. He might knock himself off of beds and sofas while grooming, but he's so sweet-tempered that no one, including Penelope, can help loving him.
