A little about me...
It was hard to distinguish Coraline from Vale, as they were always intertwined in one cat bed when we visited them at Gifford and nearly identical in color. Eventually, we came to know Coraline as the assertive one--a big purrer and doting big sister, who liked to grip Vale's head between two paws and groom with vigor. But our choice to adopt them was made during one visit in which shy little Vale grew bold enough to lock eyes with me and seemingly plead for rescue--from her sister, whose favorite place is still essentially right on top of her smaller sibling.
Even after three years of being buffeted around by their uncertain fortune, which took them from the streets to foster care to the shelter and finally a forever home, they remain the sweetest animals. Coraline continues to look after (and occasionally domineer) her little sister. From her humans, she loves nothing more than a good scritch, while Vale seeks out any open lap that will have her. It's been so gratifying to see these once skittish sisters settle into their new surroundings.
