A little about me...
When I went to Gifford Cat Shelter to adopt a kitten, I didn't expect to be taken in by the incredibly shy kitty sitting by herself in the corner. I sat down by her side and saw her look at me with big, scared eyes. Every move I made seemed to make her jump. So, I decided to carefully sit down a foot away from her and wait. I told myself that if she made any sort of contact with me, I would take her home. I stayed there, unmoving, for five whole minutes before she cautiously stepped towards me and gave my hand a curious sniff.

I gave her the name Lt. Snuggles, hoping that it would give this shy kitty a little bit of confidence. With a lot of love and encouragement, my Snuggs has become one of the most sociable cats I’ve ever been around. She is very chatty and—like her namesake—very snuggly. I am so very grateful that she decided to take a chance on me.
