Your Pet's Story or Bio
Mr. T is a 50-year-old desert tortoise. He likes green beans, desert willow flowers, prickly pear tunas, back scratches, and his intimate relationship with my red rocking chair. Dislikes catalpa flowers and sudden movements. He will always choose the bulldozer path: go through or over--not around--any obstacle, whether that's a rock, a log, a potted plant, or a human.

He spent most of his life living across the street, until he outlived his people. Then he moved in with us, where he's been ruling the side yard for the past three years.

Desert tortoises are a keystone species, and Mr. T takes that responsibility seriously, sharing his burrow with desert spiny lizards, pocket mice, and a whole bunch of invertebrates.

His wild kin are endangered, and he's here to say, "I pity the fool who doesn't protect the habitat for Sonoran & Mohave Desert Tortoises."
