Pet's Story or BioI found Lechuza roaming the streets of Paraguay when I was living there for my Peace Corps Service. She was three months old, skinny, and had a belly full of worms. Now she is 5 and lives a fully indoor and spoiled life in Oklahoma City. I still can’t believe I found my soul cat 5000 miles away in South America. Her name means owl in Spanish. I named her after my favorite burrowing owls that lived in the cow fields behind my Paraguayan house. She is trilingual and understands English, Spanish, and Guaraní (a widely spoken indigenous language in Paraguay). We have been through a lot together and I’m grateful for her every day.
