Your Pet's Story or Bio
Our children only knew home life with a dog. My wife and I adopted a Black Lab / Border Collie puppy, the runt of the litter, 14 years ago, before our first child was born. As our family grew, she was always there to play with them, protect them and snuggle. When it was time for her to say goodbye, we seemed destined for life without another pet.

Then we met Gunner! This Pointer / Hound mix, the runt of his litter, snuggled straight into our 7-year-old daughter's arms on the home visit. He ran circles around our little boy, and mended the hearts of our other daughters, and my wife. Thank you Blanca for your Furever Yours Pet Rescue ministry. You didn't just save a puppy this summer.

Gunner loves all the kids in the neighborhood, and all the dogs here, too. He wags his whole body when he greats you, as if to say even his signature long tail isn't enough of a joyful signal. Named for the Arsenal FC of the English Premier League, Gunner snuggles with me and my boy each weekend to watch the soccer matches. He LOVES playing fetch and will literally jump into your arms asking you to throw the ball again, and again, and again.

Dogs remind us that every time we see someone we love, even if it is for the fifth time that day, we should explode with unbridled joy. We should come so close to them for an embrace that, for at least a moment, we feel like we are one. And we should take naps in the afternoon.
