Your Pet's Story or Bio
Rocco (far right in the picture) is a member of my clan now, but it wasn't me who rescued him, it was my other two cats. Rocco lived in my apartment complex, he actually had owners. I was told by one of the younger girls that their family could not afford to feed him and would not pay the pet deposit, so he had to live outside. He was tiny, emaciated, and skittish. He would not come near me. My cats, Gizmo and Binx befriended him. They would let him eat their food. I of course could be no where in sight. At this time, it was winter in Florida. Most would think it's not cold, but some nights were in the 30's. Rocco would come into my apartment, eat, hide in a corner to sleep, then would leave in the morning. This became our routine. He finally let me pet him after 2 months. He was attached at the hips to my two though. They'd groom each other, play, and sleep next to each other. I've now had Rocco for 11 months. I lovingly call him my "chunky monkey" as he has become so comfortable here, he has put on a lot of weight, knowing he doesn't have to scavenge for scraps. He has a brother, a sister and me. He sleeps in my bed with me every night and gives me kisses. He is still skittish around other people, but he has come a long way. Like I said though, I did not rescue him, my cats did. They knew he needed a good home, some food and to be loved and they openly took him under their wings. They're the heroes in this rescue story.
