Pet's Story
Barney came from N. Dakota and was kept as a breeding dog in a small cage for 2 1/2 years before I rescued him. After one and a half years, he is still terrified of people and will not allow anyone to touch him. I adopted a one year old same breed Maddie to help him. His only pleasure in life is her. He always followed my husband, but 6 mos ago, he passed away and now Barney stays most of the day in his old study. He has been to a behaviorist, but still he was so badly mistreated that he fears anyone who tries to touch him, even me. He gets lots of love from me and of course Maddie his only playmate. He is a very sensitive soul with a long way to go to enjoy life.
