"Are we crazy?" Three words my wife and I asked when considering adopting dogs while raising two small children. Two adorable black puppies caught our attention - Daniel and Guss - scared little brothers left in a box in an ally in L.A. and taken to Forte Animal Rescue by a man named Daniel Guss. We adopted them and moved them to their forever home in Encino. Our six and four year old children dubbed them JJ and Blackie. We gave them their own room in the house to come and go as they pleased. As our children have grown into young adults, JJ and Blackie have been there throughout their journey. Now 13 years old, both dogs still go for walks every night - a little slower these days but they've provided us with many years of wonderful memories, security (we said farewell to ADT when these two arrived), companionship, devotion and love. Most of all, JJ and Blackie are and will forever be family.
