Pet's Story or Bio
Sunny was scaring my whole neighborhood because she was running up and down a busy street – but no one was able to get her to trust them – and she is fast! She was a topic of conversation on NextDoor – one if the people noting that they knew a great rescue company (Forte, of course!) that would help once she was safely “captured”. After a few days, I saw her in my front yard, but she was skittish and would run away with any attempt to get her – and she would not come to me.
A couple of days later, I was startled when I opened the back door, and she was sleeping on my porch. She ran deeper into the yard and would not come to me. I began feeding her (chicken the first night), and after eight days she let me bring her in the house. I took her to the Vet to scan her, and they found no chip. She also had no collar. When I bought a collar and a tag, the clerk said, “what’s her name” and I said, “I don’t know, she is not my dog”! She became Sunny right then as I recalled her moving around the back yard with the sun.
I had no intention of keeping a dog (any dog), but I contacted Dorit and said I would take care of her, get her fixed and chipped, but I needed Forte to find Sunny her forever home. I meet with Dorit, and someone even came to meet her. But a couple of weeks later, I went to see Dorit at one of the events and let her know that it turned out she WAS my dog. Or I am HER human. I am smitten with her!
