Comments/Description/Why Your Husky or Husky Mix Photo Should WinI’d like to introduce you to Nova, my 3 year old grandpup. A loveable Siberian Husky female diva who still thinks she’s a lap dog at 55 pounds. Unlike other Huskies, she’s calm and patient, but talks (growls) back at the top of her lungs if you ask her if she’s ready to go outside and then take too long getting out. Once she hears her leash, she just can’t keep quiet. The whole neighborhood can hear her howling smart talk.
She loves the outdoors, especially the snow and cold of Northern California where she lives. Her dad, my son is in the Air Force so she gets to travel quite a bit with her black lab sister Nala. Shhh! They think they’re twins but it’s our little secret they’re NOT. They are totally inseparable and will howl and cry when separated even for 10 or 15 minutes. Those 3 have such a bond! When my son has to go away on assignment or deployment, I travel up north to take care of them while he’s gone. She will lie in front of the front door awaiting his return. She will not move. She’ll get a little stubborn and not want to eat. She will sneak a treat if I leave one.
Nova loves riding in the car especially with the windows down, letting the wind hit her face and loves long road trips. They are well conditioned to make the 6 hour car ride to visit me in Southern California. She also enjoys going for a run, camping, hiking or running free off leash in the cold streams of California, Oregon and Washington state. When they can’t get out into the cold climate, my son brings the cold in to her. He has brought home 6 bags of ice to dump in the bathtub for Nova to enjoy and relish in.
Nova also loves posing for pictures and her dad is an amateur photographer so he captures a lot of beautiful nature photos of her enjoying the outdoors. He took this shot and when he sent me this photo, I thought wow, she could be a cover girl. He loves photographing his pups and has so many photos, we could almost create our own calendar.
In her downtime, Nova loves to watch tv, usually animal or nature shows keep her attention. She loves to play with her toys and do tricks for treats and loves to nap.
I came across your amazing group sometime back and enjoy all the beautiful fur babies you feature and assist in placing. Thank you for all you do in supporting such a worthy cause. I was very surprised to see the post for a contest and I figured why not send it in. It my number 1 photo of all time. I’d caption it, “Aw, I see snow. I’m home!” Thank you for your consideration. Blessings.
