Comments/Description/Why Your Husky or Husky Mix Photo Should Win
This is Trinity. I rescued her from the Cheboygan animal shelter. Once our girls had passed-on from our first "pack", our lone male/Budlee, was devastated. You could watch the life go out of him daily. So, my goal was to find him a companion. The shelter had told me about Trinity, and fibbed a bit about her being a Husky. She had been dumped at 8 years-old, by some moron who wanted a new puppy. I drove 4 hours in a blizzard, to go get her. Once I got there, it was obvious that she wasn't a "Husky"... so to say. Being who I am, I said "there's no way I'll leave her here". She jumped in the back on my dually, like she'd been doing it forever. Over the next ten years, she continued to amaze us with her love, loyalty, and bravery. She was extremely stoic, and never made a noise of pain, no matter what. I believe she was beaten, and refused to show pain. She also was our hunter-killer. If it wasn't a dog, and got in our yard...it was dead. She was extremely quiet and affectionate. Being a mix, she never really fit 100% into the Husky mold, but she was the "sheepdog" of our pack. We had her DNA tested, and she was 50-50 Husky/Spitz on the maternal side, and a mish-mash of breeds on the Paternal side[Doberman, Greyhound, Pomeranian, etc]. Without a doubt, she was one of the most amazing dogs we've had the fortune to have had as a companion/family-member. We used to joke that she was our "hillbilly Husky"....and called her Boo. She was a big and formidable girl, at 70-80lbs. She lived 10 years with us, and we lost her at 18. If I could clone her, I would in a second. We miss and love her so much.
