Comments/Description/Why Your Husky or Husky Mix Photo Should Win
Harley has been through quite the journey in her 3 years of life! She got herself lost in Francis Marion National Forest here in SC in 2015 (she was only 9 months old!). We had search parties out to find her! After 5 days we found her! Barely alive, but we found her! She had been attacked by a large animal and was paralyzed from the ticks on her body. Fast forward to 2017. When Harley was 2 and a half, she escaped the backyard (as she had done countless times). We searched for hours, and couldn't find her anywhere. Come the next day I began losing hope as I searched every shelter nearby. I then got a phone call from a woman who lived nearly 2 hours from me saying it was a long shot, but that there was a husky that appeared in a neighbor's backyard that was known to flip dogs! I was doubtful, but I had to know it wasn't Harley. So I drove there... Two hours! I walked by the house and saw the husky far away, I couldn't see her too well. But as soon as I called out her name she stood up and howled. It was my baby! She was chained so tightly, that she could hardly stand. I called the police and the folks lied and said that they tried calling and I didn't answer, but they lost her collar in the process. Harley had a big, raw open wound on her chest from where the chain dug into her that got pretty infected. Harley has made a FULL recovery due to some TLC and medication! She still has severe separation problems, though.
