Feline Rescue, Inc. is a Minnesota based
no-kill companion cat rescue organization. Our founders established Feline Rescue in 1997 in Minneapolis, MN as a
501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We are a volunteer based organization. Feline Rescue, Inc. is funded exclusively through donations and grants.
We receive no municipal, state, or federal funding. We provide
rescue and relief to the homeless and endangered cats in our community through programs that offer
shelter, foster, social and medical rehabilitation, feral and stray management, spay/neuter subsidy, and community education. Our Vision
We envision a community in which no cat is unwanted.
Our Mission
To
provide safe shelter, veterinary care, and socialization for stray, abandoned, or abused cats until good permanent homes can be found for them. Our mission does not enable us to accept owner surrendered animals.
Our Core Values
Our values support our vision, shape our culture, and guide us in our work. At Feline Rescue, cats always come first. We believe that teamwork and collaboration are critical to achieving our mission. We treat our stakeholders with compassion, dignity and respect. And we have a lifelong commitment to each cat.
Our Rescue Program
Adoption Center
Up to 50 cats are housed and rehabilitated at our Adoption Center at any one time. The majority of cats housed at our facility are allowed to roam freely most of the time and are not kenneled. Cats may be kenneled during introductions to a new space, when receiving medical treatment, or during behavioral rehabilitation.
Network of Foster Caregivers
Our extensive network of foster homes cares for an additional 150 adoptable kittens, nursing mothers, and special needs cats.
Our Outreach Program
Our outreach program focuses on feral cat colony management, Trap Neuter Return, and subsidized low-cost spay/neuter programs.
Our Education Program
Feline Rescue volunteers work with the public to provide educate regarding pet overpopulation and responsible pet ownership.
Board of Directors

Board meetings are currently held at our administrative building at 600 Fairview Ave. N. Due to low attendance meetings were moved back to the administrative building. If attendance increases we may choose to move the meeting location. PLEASE NOTE: during months with 5 Wednesdays (in 2018 this includes May, August, and October) that board meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday.
