Tell us a little about your pet?
Missy is our 12 year old foster fail rescue pup and our very best girl. She was abandoned with her puppies in North Carolina, came to us in NYC, and since joining our little pack, she’s gone on many adventures, including a cross country road trip to Santa Fe, hikes up mountains, national parks and several trips to the beaches of California. As a senior girl, Missy loves to nap in the sun and rotate her sleeping positions around our home. She also loves sticking her head out the window on car rides, getting love and attention, and going to the dog park for gentle walks. Her favorite foods include French fries, pizza, scrambled eggs, anything meaty or cheesy, and pup cups!

Tell us your pet's favorite trick or if there are any unique things that your pet can do?
Missy is the most food motivated dog ever, and she loves treats more than anything. When she’s really excited about a particular high value food or treat, she gets so excited in anticipation that literally she drools bubbles! She will also attempt to do all of her tricks at once, trying to cover all bases for which one may result in a treat. Missy also has big “auntie” energy, and if her younger cousin pups are roughhousing too much around her, she will stare them down until they get in line!

Why should your pet be crowned the 2025 Pet Pageant Champion?
Missy was recently diagnosed with an aggressive oral cancer, and we don’t know how long she’ll be with us, whether months or a year, or more if we’re really, really lucky. She has been the absolute best patient despite all of the uncomfortable shots and procedures, and we’re so very proud of her. Our current goal is to spoil her rotten and give her every possible bucket list opportunity to experience joy, whether it’s through treats, adventures, cuddles or seeing the people and dogs she loves the most. Being a Pet Pageant Champion sounded like a pretty good wish to add to her list!
