Smokey was an ECMCR foster cat. His original foster had him for six months but couldn't keep him anymore. He was transferred to me and my daughter and spent five months hiding in a small box inside of my closet. I talked to him every day and threw treats to him because he didn't want me to come near him. After five months, he just walked out into the living room like he'd been there his whole life! He loved our other cats and we decided to keep him because we didn't want to put him through the terrible stress of being moved again. We had him for six years until he passed away in July from a heart attack. We miss Smokey very much. He was a good foster dad to the kittens that we fostered over the years. Nicki and I miss you.
