Your Pet's Bio/Story
DDFL rescued Penny from a puppy mill in November with 30 other dogs. She was six years old and weighed just four pounds. She was in very bad shape. She was dirty and matted, her ears were both badly infected, and her teeth were in such bad shape that they all had to be extracted. She was afraid of everything.
As a Foster Department volunteer, I saw Penny while working my shift the week of Christmas. I picked her up, fell in love, and I knew I had to take her home that day. Once home, she finally felt secure and got the rest she needed to recover. Very soon, I decided to give her a permanent home.
Penny is now healthy, and grows more confident every day.
She has begun seeing the world - she enjoys walks, car rides, and she barks super loud when I make her food.
