Your Pet's Bio/Story
Riley was adopted from DDFL at age 4+ with torn ACL's in both knees. The League arranged for the surgery to repair the knees so Riley could run, swim, play and love like a true Lab. And that's just what happened - she did all of that and more as she became a very beloved family pet. But at age 9 she was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her left leg which then had to be amputated. After chemo treatments she was given a prognosis of living 12 - 15 months more. But she surprised everyone by living another 26 months. And she lived that remaining time being the same active Lab as before - swimming, retrieving and playing, just at a little slower pace. She truly remained a happy trooper until the end.
