Tell Us A Little About Your Cutie Pie
Although Boomer is not an official rescue dog from a shelter I like to think I rescued him. We got Boomer from a breeder who had him flee dipped at just 8 weeks old!! Just before Boomer's first birthday he started taking seizures and was started on medicine for this. He then required blood work every 6 months to check his liver levels. At around 4 years old after having routine blood work we discovered Boomer had severe anemia and had to have an immediate blood transfusion or he would die. Even after the transfusion the doctors gave him 3 months tops and diagnosed him with immune mediated hemolitic anemia. Boomer just celebrated his 7 birthday on August 13 and has had stable blood levels for over a year. He's a little chunky from being on steroids for 3 years but a total cuddle pup!!
