We know Halloween is the perfect holiday to express our (and our pup's) creative side by dressing up our pup! We've seen it, year after year, wieners dressed in a hot dog bun, laced with ketchup and mustard as they strut down the neighborhood streets. As time passes, that infamous hot dog costume continues but alas, others have surfaced! For those of you who dress up your wiener often, this is your time to jazz or spice it up, if only for a day. For others who don't dress their pup in clothes on a regular, this is your time to get creative and find the once in a year perfect costume for your furbaby, again, if only for a day. What will it be??? We can't wait to see!

• Ask, encourage, bribe😊 your friends and family to vote for their favorite costume!
• $1=1vote. At the end of the contest, we'll tally the votes and the pic/pup with the highest number of votes wins.
• ALL donations, 100%, go to Doxie by Proxy Rescue, Inc. to support the mission of rescue, rehabilitate and rehoming dachshunds and dachshund mixes to 5 star homes and families in North Carolina
• If your pup is crowned the Happy Halloweenie champion, their picture will be our banner for Halloween
• The top 3 with the most votes/donations will be rewarded with cool prize packages

Doxie by Proxy, Inc. is a small local rescue organization located in Central North Carolina. Our pups are typically located in either Greensboro or Raleigh, NC. We are a passionate group of individuals committed to the rescue and rehabilitation of dachshunds and dachshund mixes. Our organization is 100% volunteer based and our fosters are housed in foster homes with foster families while they await adoption. We do accept out-of-state adoption applications but require all adoptive families to travel to North Carolina to adopt (very few exceptions) to ensure the safety of our fosters as they transition to their new families.

In 2020, Doxie By Proxy has already rescued MORE homeless dachshunds than in all of 2019. Even more, our medical expenses almost doubled to over $125,000 so far in 2020. We've had record breaking major medical including a pacemaker, two back surgeries, three inguinal hernias with multiple organs inside and repairing a dog hit by a car that required three plates and 27 pins.
