A little about me...
This is Lexys' 3rd year in this contest, she has done really well being a high dose kitty on levimir insulin. She has a companion "Peanut" is a ginger kitty her brother who is there every day when she gets tested and gets her insulin. He has taken good care of her. She is living the high life with a personal playpen and auto feeder with a cube inside for sleeping. She is always aware of when her feeder is going to open, she jumps like a rabbit to her food. Since she has been diabetic, she has had several times when she has been very controlled and also periods when her sugars jump and it requires an adjustment.
She is a sweet girl who likes her time in the window watching the front of in the kitchen cat seat looking at the animals out in the yard. She likes to spend time with her mom's and frequently purrs loudly.
When she was diagnosed her mom's had just had knee surgery, but the playpen really helped when we needed to test feed and shoot. Lexy is a Houdini, she is on her 3rd feeder, she likes to get at her food even when it's not time! She is a very loving kitty and has been wonderful to her momma when she has had to be tested and pricked and prodded all the time. She takes it with a grain of salt. She has been very healthy for the most part, she has only been sick a few times where it has caused worry.
She loves her veterinarian who talks to her, asks what brought her in this time, He's sweet and she never gives him a hard time. We have kept him as her vet, because other vets just aren't like him. I hope that she will get some votes, she deserves to have a spot in the calendar for sweet cat who happens to be diabetic.
