A little about me...
Garfield came to me after I lost the last of my kitties in August. By November, I was missing the pitter-patter of little paws and started looking on Petfinder. I didn't want a kitten or young cat. I wanted a senior and since I'd had a diabetic cat before, the fact he was listed as diabetic didn't scare me at all. I also knew his chances of getting adopted were slim and none so I arranged to meet him at his foster mom's house. I've always had a special place in my heart for orange kitties since my first kitten was an orange tabby, so it was love at first site! I brought him home, tested his blood glucose and it was normal! He continued to be in remission until one evening in June. He walked into the living room and collapsed on the floor, gasping for air. I ran him to the only vet open late on a Friday night and he got a big dose of Depo Medrol which ended up kicking him out of remission, but we didn't have a choice! I had to save his life! He's back on insulin but doing well and he's learning to use an Aerokat inhaler. I still hold out hope that he can get back to remission, but if he never does, that's OK too. He's still such a beautiful and fluffy boy and I love him dearly.
