Please include a short paragraph that tells voters something fun or interesting about the cat(s) and other animals in the photo. Which cat is diabetic? Is one or more a DCIN rescue? How long have the animals been a part of your family? Give some interesting information about the animal(s) in the photo that will encourage others to vote for your photo.
Sebastian has been gone for over 3 years and I still miss him every single day. He was so special. One of a kind. A real character...anyone ever in his presence would agree! I adopted him when he was 13 years old via DCIN. He had been through a lot. At 10 years old his family gave him to a kill shelter because they didn’t want to deal with the diabetes. He was rescued and had a great foster mom but for reasons beyond her control after 3 years she had to find him another home. Luckily, when I saw his face I fell in love. I had two one year old cats at home and wasn’t sure this would work...but it did. Perfectly.
Sebastian was the most adaptable, charming, friendly, quirky, lovable, darling, intelligent , funny and stubborn kitty I’ve ever met. I loved him so. And of course , he got very sick from cancer. That’s what happens when things are perfect. I only had him for almost 4 years but we were besties. When I lost him, I didn’t think I’d ever heal. I have...but I still talk to him every night . I promised him that as long as this calendar existed, he’d be on it. Really, I did. Not that he’d win, but that he’d be on it. Thanks to a little birdie, again I’m keeping that promise. I’m sure Sebastian is grinning.
