Tayo (rhymes with mayo) is my 7th diabetic, and he was up for adoption but I gave up. He is a big handsome bruiser dude who was too high energy for Sunshine. I rescued him from a shelter that would have euthanized him, even though I had intended to keep Sunshine an only cat.

He is a diabetic 11 year old who is going on 11 months! I was hoping for remission but he is still on insulin. He eats everything in sight, necessitating his living in first, the walk in closet, then moving to the kitchen (screen door on the door), because Sunshine needed to have access to food all the time. Apart from the feeding, Sunshine was a very low energy cat and Tayo is high energy, and Sunshine didn’t like him. Tayo was respectful of Sunshine but really wanted to play with her and over time was too interested and nosy.

Tayo loves to play and will need regular playtime with interactive cat toys such as fishing rod type toys. Tayo is very affectionate but he can get a little overstimulated with too much attention. Now that he has run of the apartment, he is running around all the time. He can still get the zoomies and is a terror then. Even with all the zoomies, Tayo is still a chonk. For all the chonky zoomers, vote for Tayo!!

PS. I am entering Tayo, because he is my current kitty, and I am entering Sunshine, because she was sort of the DCIN poster-cat for a lot of things, and I am entering Merlyn because he started it all, but that does not mean I have forgotten about Carly, Baloo, Bear and Sarjenka!
