About this extra-sweet kitty
Skooma was a community cat who had to be relocated after a neighbor was threatening to kill the cats. He survived extreme temperatures during the recent arctic blast by hiding in a bush. When he came to us, he was originally supposed to be an outdoor cat, but something told me that he wasnt completely feral, and would love to have a family. We took him inside and began socializing him. He was very scared of hands and very unsure of humans but he showed a need to be loved. Within a month he had learned to play, give and get love, and enjoy lazy evenings on the couch with us. He has even taken our newest feral kitten under his wing, and can be found giving him baths and protecting him when there is any threats. When he was diagnosed with diabetes, we were very worried about how he would do with the injections and testing after spending so long trying to get him to trust us. But he does so well with all of his treatments, and even runs to his bowl for his insulin injections. Skooma is definitely a survivor and I know he will overcome this minor setback.
