Cecil was our first diabetic foster. He was not doing well at the shelter so we brought him home to foster. Cecil LOVED getting out into foster with more freedom to run and play and more time for snuggles. He quickly went into remission and gained much needed weight.
Cecil is the kind of cat that every person and every cat loves instantly. He really bonded with the black cats he was fostered with. His first BFF Malcolm got a great home so when an new big black diabetic boy came to foster along side Cecil, we think Cecil and Chris Farley conspired together to make their foster home their forever home together. Cecil got no adoption interest for months, and when he finally did, Chris ran interference while a usually social Cecil ran and hid. After a couple months of that foster mom and dad told the boys they didn't have to worry, mom and dad couldn't live without them either and Cecil and Chris became part of the family forever.
Cecil's diabetes has remained diet controlled since going into remission in early 2014. We have great hopes that he remains that way for the rest of a very long life with us.
