Please include a short paragraph that tells voters something fun or interesting about the cat(s) and other animals in the photo. Which cat is diabetic? Is one or more a DCIN rescue? How long have the animals been a part of your family? Give some interesting information about the animal(s) in the photo that will encourage others to vote for your photo.
VOTE PAISLEY!!!!
Paisley was adopted through DCIN from a shelter a few hours away. They were so desperate to find her a home and I couldn't resist, especially after they posted a video of her. In July 2011, the scrawny orange girl made the long and rather loud trip to join her new family in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. In retrospect, I'd have to say she was a very opinionated feline. In her opinion, cats do not belong in vehicles.

She was a serious cat. Some might call her an old soul. When my cat Scottie crossed the Rainbow Bridge, Paisley stepped in and took over Scottie's position as the one who looked after me. She slept beside me, right where Scottie had slept for several years. When the world felt overwhelming, Paisley was there. If I cried, Paisley was there. She knew when I needed her, just as Scottie knew when I needed her. She was my friend and soul-mate. She was my P Cat.

When it came to her diabetes, she adapted quickly to the sticks and shots. She never was one for conformity and that included her diabetes. She never followed in the paw prints of her brother, Barry, and went OTJ. My life revolved around wondering when she'd get with the program.

Unfortunately, this past May, her health deteriorated and a mass was found in her liver. On May 27, 2015, I held her as she crossed the Rainbow Bridge and became my guardian angel. I know I'm in good paws with both Scottie and Paisley watching over me.

We had nearly four years together and we have DCIN to thank for that. From the beginning to the end, DCIN was there with support. Without DCIN, my dear friend would have become another sad statistic of diabetic cats who never found a furever home. Miss P. and I want to do everything we can to make sure another diabetic cat is able to find a furever home and receive the care and support needed.
