Please include a short paragraph that tells voters something fun or interesting about the cat(s) and other animals in the photo. Which cat is diabetic? Is one or more a DCIN rescue? How long have the animals been a part of your family? Give some interesting information about the animal(s) in the photo that will encourage others to vote for your photo.
Stubbie was left taped in a box at a veterinarian’s doorstep in Illinois. He weighed 5 pounds and was not in good shape, facing a very uncertain future if not for Janice Spitaleri Wolfe, cat rescuer extraordinaire.
I saw her post via DCIN, and soon—well, sort of soon–the Stubster was winging his way west to Orange County to me and my other three cats. We named him Mick Jagger, then Jethro for his slow swagger. The name Stubbie has stuck because, well, it was his name and it is his tail. My vet says he was born this way—no injury, thankfully.
Stubbie has been here two years, and he’s just “coming out.” He talks, seeks affection, plays hard with the resident team-builder cat, Tux, and he’s adorable. I manage him on ProZinc and brush his teeth daily. He now weighs 12. 5 pounds, and in fact, we’re working on losing a couple.
He’s a big, round teddy bear and I’m so glad he’s part of our family. Thanks, Janice and DCIN!
Stubbie-wubbie was a bear (actually a cat), Stubbie-wubbie has gray and white hair!
He gets my vote as a wonderful cat who almost didn’t have a second chance. But that’s then. This is now.
