After losing precious BC to cancer August 2009 my dear Hercules became very depressed, so in January 2010 I called the local Humane Society to ask if they had any older cats slated for euthanasia. They told me the only one was Emily but she was deemed unadoptable as she was too shy, scared and depressed. You see, Emily was in a hoarding situation until she was 7 years old. She and all the other kitties had suffered severe neglect and malnutrition and even after being in foster and at the H.S. for a year she didn't show much improvement. I told them I would be there the next day to adopt her anyway. When I went to pick her up the look of fear and sorrow in her eyes nearly broke my heart. She has since blossomed to be even more beautiful and much more confident. She developed diabetes 3 years ago after getting steroids to treat asthma and has been insulin dependent since. Emily really helped so much when we lost precious Hercules to cancer last year. She is so sweet and loving, every morning I wake to her sleeping pressed up against my back or kissing my forehead. I love her so much and she loves me, Emily is my sweet little sugar baby <3
