Maui was truly magnificent. While Maui was on insulin, she became the diva that we all know and love. She learned to eat wet food. Any self respecting kitty, would never be caught with food all over her face. Maui did not care. Maui wore her food proudly. One day she wasn’t feeling well, I brought her breakfast in bed. Well that is all it took was one serving and Maui thought this was how it was always supposed to be. She expected and even demanded to be served in bed. I prepared her meals and called her. Normally she would come when called. I called several times and no Maui. I walked into the bedroom to find her lying in the middle of the bed with her front paws crossed and this look on her face telling me well I’m hungry and waiting to be served. I knew I created a diva! And I her lowly servant obliged. Maui loved to go outdoors to sit on her chair on the porch and soak up the summer sun. Every summer we spent days on the porch, me reading and Maui enjoying the sun. After Maui went blind, I was concerned that she would “get lost” outside, but I swear, she knew exactly where her chair was positioned and I think she even counted the steps, because she would lift her front paws in the air searching for her chair. Maui tried her best to hire kittehs to do her bidding. She always had lovely uniforms, err outfits with their names on them. Whenever she hired a kitteh, he or she always ended up nekkid and losing their outfits. Many a time Maui came back from her Condo at the Falls with a wagon full of strange clothes. In true Maui style, I know she at the bridge sitting in the sun directing and bossing all the kittehs that are already there.
