Mickey and Duchess are proof that magical things happen at Christmas!

When Mickey was 8 months old, his first human died right before the holidays. He was taken to the shelter, a tiny, terrified doxie.

Literally hours after Mickey's arrival, my father-in-law walked into the shelter and saw him. It was like Santa himself had given us the bestest Christmas present ever when Pops walked in with the little guy! (Ironically, Duchess was also a Christmas present to us from Pops several years earlier when her first human couldn’t keep her.)

Now 7, Mickey is the sweetest little guy, definitely a Daddy's boy. He’s adored by everyone, loves to go places with Daddy, and get daily biscuits from our neighbors (his adopted grandparents).

Sadly, Duchess crossed the rainbow bridge a few years ago, and we miss her. This picture is just our reminder that Christmas angels come in all forms.
