Astro was adopted from DRSF in 2015.
I remember the first moment I saw him I was thinking..How could anyone give you up?
He has these hauntingly human eyes. He likes to sleep under the covers, beside me. He’s afraid of loud noises and the vacuum but likes strangers and sunbathing. He will find a sun spot in the apartment if there is one. We do everything together, even shopping.
When I’m sick, Astro sits protectively nearby and politely waits if his walks are delayed. When I cry, he licks my face and makes himself available. When I’m sad, he gets into the bed with me, just like he always has.
He understands unconditional love in a way I am still trying to comprehend.

I just got lucky.
