Contest Rules
- Dogs, cats, and other companion pets, (like small mammals and birds) are eligible.
- Photos may contain up to two pets, and should not include wildlife or humans.
- Your pet does not have to be adopted from the Connecticut Humane Society (CHS) or live in Connecticut to be eligible to enter the contest or in the calendar.
- All pet contestants must be owned by the person submitting the photo for the contest. Or written permission must be obtained and sent to PetPhotoContest@CThumane.org.
- Photos with professional photographer watermarks are not eligible for submission.
- Offensive or indecent photos will be removed from the contest at the discretion of the CHS staff.
- Digital copies of photos submitted become the property of the Connecticut Humane Society and may be used without additional consent in other print or electronic publications, including social media.
- Entries and votes cast under fraudulent circumstances will disqualify the contestant.
Guidelines
Submission Guidelines:
- Photo submissions will be accepted until 4:30:00 PM (Eastern Time) on Friday, June 28, 2024.
- Enter your pet for the contest and Reserve-a-Spot on the calendar for your pet’s birthday or Gotcha Day for $10.
- Mailed and hand-delivered entries are unable to be accepted.
Photos Guidelines: (see tips below)
- Photos must be in full color.
- Landscape/horizontal photos are best.
- High-resolution photos are requested, but submit what you can and we'll inform you of any quality concerns, particularly if your pet is in the top 13 vote getters.
Votes:
- Votes are cast online. Each vote is $1, with a minimum purchase of 5 votes. There is no limit to the number of votes that can be made. Keep an eye on the leaderboard to see how many votes your pet receives.
- Voting is open to the public; some pets may receive votes outside of your personal network
- Voting will close at 4:30:00 PM (Eastern Time) on Friday, June 28, 2024.
