A little about me:
I was born in England in a Suffolk village. I was a member of the Royal Air Force Auxiliary Regiment prior to moving to the USA. I met my husband before he began his 25 years of USAF service.

We have 2 dogs, one he bought back from Afghanistan after his tour there. He let me name her Aafa, which is Muslim for forgiveness. We also have Rollo, a Viking word for wolf.

We have 2 adult children, one of which has put me in the Blue Star Mom category. I have been to 14 countries. When I lived in Upstate NY I worked as a tour guide taking trips to Toronto for the theater. Also while in NY I was a medieval pub wench at the Renaissance Festival.

When the Air Force sent us to England to live, I had the incredible blessing to become very close to several WWII veterans. WWII is a subject I am passionate about, I have been to the Normandy D-Day beaches 6 times for the anniversary celebrations. I used to organize and run 1940's dances in the village in England where we lived, and family Halloween discos. My husband & I won an award from the Air Force for community services. The funds helped support The Royal British Legion and the local Methodist Chapel.

I met Sarah through The March Of The Fallen as my husband helped run it. Since moving to Arizona I have volunteered at the VA Veterans day parade, My Girlfriends Closet, Luke Air Force Base Thrift Store, March of the Fallen, Millennium Marching Band fundraising, and the Irish Cultural Center. I am blessed to have been a proud stay at home military spouse. I give thanks to God for that and the abilities it afforded me to be able to volunteer often.

I love Arizona and regard it as home now, best part of it is the Phoenix Symphony and the incredible Arizona Renaissance Festival.

Fun fact: I was a punk rocker back when The Sex Pistols were a hit.

Previous dance background:
Dabbling in belly dancing and lightly intoxicated disco enthusiast.

Why did you agree to help Community Paws?
I have recently faced health challenges and a 60th birthday and want to embrace life and take opportunities as they come.

Why Community Paws asked me to be a Star:
Sue very graciously has stepped in at the very last minute after one of our original dancers was involved in a car crash and had to unfortunately pull out of the event. After serving alongside her husband who served 25yrs to the US Air Force and devoting so much of her free time to all things military, giving and general community service she was an obvious choice. Not only does Sue loves dogs and have a kind, generous heart she is also always up for some fun. Thank you Sue! ❤️
