A little about me...
Hello! My name is Kailuna. Please help us raise money to support two charities, Cocos Cupboard, a non profit humane society organization that works to rescue and home animals in the Atlanta area and Tails of Hope, who provides service dog training for disabled individuals, special needs children, wounded veterans, and first responders. All the proceeds for the votes and calendar sales go to these two great causes.
A little more about me, I am a husky living between Los Angeles and Atlanta and I was once in the foster system myself. I was born in Sacramento, trained as an ESA (and on my way to full service certification) but somehow got lost and ended up in the shelter in Santa Monica. As luck would have it, my Mom and Dad had wanted a dog for many, many years, but because of their nomadic lifestyle felt it might be challenging. I think together, the three of us have found the perfect family. I love the adventure of traveling, meeting new dogs and people and most of all being with my mom and dad. I also very much enjoy running, bones with marrow, chasing squirrels and digging holes.
How did I get my name, you might ask? The day my Mom and Dad adopted me we went to Venice beach. I had never been to the ocean and when I felt the sand in my 4 paws and the salt water on my face, I knew the ocean was my special place. So on leash, I ran into the water, pulling my Mom with me and after watching the surfers, began to dive beneath the waves. My Mom and Dad gave me the name Kailuna, which in Hawaiian means Ocean Chief. It was the best day of my life and the beginning of the happiest life ever. We are entering this contest to raise money for other pups so that they can have a chance to find their forever home.
