I had just lost my old girl to old age and had been through a family emergency at the same time. I volunteer at the shelter, and about a week after losing my old gal, I donated her prescription food to the shelter, and just decided to LOOK at the cats to see if I was anywhere near ready to adopt. And there was Sandy ("Popple" at the shelter). He is my BEST fur friend now, such a loving feline - he came from a hoarding situation, so he is one happy cat!
