“What is he?”

It's a question we've heard countless times since adopting Charley from the Greater Charlotte SPCA. The curiosity is understandable: Charley's an interesting assortment of perky ears, amber eyes, and droopy jowls. His DNA test hardly clarified the matter -- the results included 8 breeds, spanning St. Bernard to Corgi. But now that we've shared our home with Charley for several months, we can answer “What is he?” better than any DNA test could.

Charley is an expert Frisbee catcher. He's a great road trip buddy and a wonderful companion on a walk. He's a chaser of squirrels, sticks, and his own tail. He's a cuddler, a digger, a bit of a drooler. Charley is a lover of life's simple joys: quiet mornings on the porch, evening strolls, and nights by the firepit. So in the end, how do we answer the question of “What is he?”

Charley is family, and we adore him.
