A little about this image...
The dancers are initiated men dancing all night before new initiates were taken into the spirit house the next morning. This was in the remote village of Yamok, a two hour walk through the jungle, after a dugout trip up the Sepik River. Initiations only occur once every ten years, and I had the good fortune to be invited as an outsider to witness this amazing event.
