Why you should vote for this non-profit
COMPASS (Congregational Outreach Ministries Program of Assistance & Social Services), founded in 1982, is an outreach ministry of Broad Street Presbyterian Church in partnership with other Faith-Based Organizations, collaborating to prevent homelessness and promote self-sufficiency. For nearly 40 years, COMPASS has been working to prevent homelessness, provide housing stability, and encourage self-reliance by providing direct short-term financial assistance for emergency housing, offering targeted need referrals, and for individuals/families in Central Ohio. COMPASS also partners with other nonprofits, governmental agencies, and corporations to leverage funds and advance our mission.
Under the leadership of Brittany Porch, youth director, the youth of Broad Street Presbyterian Church did a fantastic job decorating the COMPASS Yacht. The youth crafted and colored the hearts that you see on our boat. They also applied stickers as Brittany shared the COMPASS mission of helping those in need. They also learned how our mission aligns with Micah 6:8 (The Message): “Do what is fair and just to your neighbor, be compassionate and loyal in your love.” Please consider joining COMPASS and the artistic and compassionate youth of BSPC as we race in this year’s Regatta. As we win, families win. Every dollar makes an impact. Give as little or as much as you please, and you can give more than once.
We want to thank our wonderful sponsors, Lynn and Ted Coons, for their continued support of COMPASS and its mission. We mostly thank them for connecting us with the Kiwanis Club of Columbus, Ohio.
