Andrea & Sadie
What's your purrmance story with your cat?
When I lost my first cat to squamous cell carcinoma the loss was overwhelming but I was able to focus on my other guy, Spike, who was now without a feline sibling. Not wanting him to be alone I set out to find him a little brother. I was set on only a male cat so didn't include "female" during my Petfinder and rescue group searches. I visited a local Petco that was holding a rescue group's mobile adoption, very much hoping I would find our new family member. I came upon a beautiful kitten and fell in love. I quickly asked the gender but felt my heart deflate a bit when I learned she was female. I agreed to meet her anyway. She was put into my arms and quickly wriggled away, seemingly wanting nothing to do with me but I openly listened to the foster mom as she described Sadie's personality. I knew she was the right cat for Spikey. I am so glad that I listened to my heart. Adopting Sadie was the greatest gift. She and Spike love each other and despite her behaviour that first day, she showed to be the most affectionate cat, constantly snuggling, kneading my belly, sleeping on my head. I am beyond grateful to have this special soul in my life for the last 5 1/2 years and love her more every day.
