What's your purrmance story with your cat?
My husband and I picked up Ghost Cat at a shelter in Saskatchewan in the summer of 2013. We had gone in for a kitten but it was Ghost Cat who stole my heart. Ghost Cat and I have changed a lot in the two years since her adoption day. Ghost Cat has longer fur, I have shorter hair, and if we're being honest, both of us have gained some weight. Adopting Ghost Cat changed my life. She quickly became my loving little Velcro cat, and almost every picture of the two of us captures Ghosty in her rightful place -- up on my shoulders. Her unconditional love and hilarious personality helped me re-evaluate my goals in the months after we met, because being with her was just so much fun. She made me realize that I was spending a lot of energy chasing things that would never make me happy, when what I needed to do was switch gears, move home to Red Deer, Alberta and expand my fur family. Ghost Cat inspired me to start a new career as a freelance writer, and I began creating content for pet publications (my first article was about her bladder). She also inspired my husband and I to eventually bring home a kitten, Specter, and to later adopt our dogs, GhostBuster and Marshmallow. Ghost Cat is the feline love of my life. She's a special cat who deserves a special place in my heart and on my shoulders.
