About Us

Cat Haven is leading Baton Rouge in becoming a no-kill community for cats and kittens by providing care, shelter, and adoption services, as well as advocating for routine spaying and neutering for population control.

Cat Haven began in 1999 as an all-volunteer grassroots group in response to a community need for comprehensive rescue, foster, and adoption services for cats and kittens. Twenty-two years later, we have grown to an organization with a staff of 6 employees, 300+ volunteers, and a state-of-the-art adoption center. We have rescued over 15,000 helpless kitties from being needlessly euthanized and have helped countless felines find their forever homes! Through collaborating with other animal rescues, we hope to make a difference in the lives of homeless felines.
