Bebe (formerly "Baby") was born during the Covid pandemic lockdowns and was most likely not socialized with people other than her then-owner or other dogs. After her owner passed away, this history caused Bebe to find her few weeks at the CASPCA to be highly stressful, despite the empathetic and loving care she received at the shelter. I fell in love with her at first sight and she adopted me as her owner before we even reached her new home. Bebe suffered from fear and anxiety which exhibited as aggression and biting towards unfamiliar people. With the help of an Animal Behavioralist Vet, appropriate medication, advice from a dog trainer and much love and attention from us, Bebe has grown into a lovingly affectionate and wonderful pet who adores our children and grandchildren. She continues to need some help when meeting new people but is having success and is growing in comfort with this. Bebe is proof that some WONDERFUL pets have been through many challenges and might need some specialized assistance and understanding in order to make a successful transition to their Forever Home.
